Little Mountain is a small pimple on the low lands just to the south of Parksville not far from Nanaimo. A road runs all the way to the summit whereas some trail system also exists on the south side of the hill. The lower portions of this hill near the road are occupied by residential area and the summit offers some decent views. Alex, Vlad and I did this on the last day of our island peak-bagging trip because we had several hours to kill before the ferry ride. We opted to tag this in the easiest possible way, and that was to drive to the summit. I was expecting the road to be gated but it never was. There’s even a designated parking lot on the summit and people apparently do come up here to chill.
