Tuktakamin Mountain

Falkland / Shuswap Highlands, BC
Tuktakamin Mtn. is a “P2K” objective immediately next to the small town of Falkland on Highway 97 that connects Monte Creek to Armstrong. This stretch of the road isn’t regularly travelled for me driving into Rockies as I’d just go down Highway 1, so I hadn’t noticed this peak until recently. There’s literally nothing worth noting about this peak as it’s a simple drive-up. It does require a 4×4, high clearance vehicle as the upper roads are steep with some water bars. I think a Subaru can make it up there too but a Tacoma is definitely guaranteed. I did it as a short detour while driving home from Sicamous area. Earlier in this big trip I had finished the 11,000ers list in the Canadian Rockies and made an ascent of BC Ultra – Morton Peak. The weather was turning shit and I wanted to squeeze one more peak in.
