1770m
Austria
Rossbrand is nothing fancier than a dull-looking hill in northern Austria but boasts over 700 m prominence and that’s the sole reason why we did it. I hadn’t searched up the “World’s P600m map” thoroughly as my prominence threshold in this trip was 1000 m. However, when James Barlow made the suggestion I had to agree, as Rossbrand was basically a drive-up. The weather was meh but at least it wasn’t pissing, so Adam, Erica and I decided to join. Earlier in the day we had scrambled Hochtor and the plan was to drive to the city of Salzburg afterwards.

James had already done this objective a few years ago with Connor but given the minimal effort it wouldn’t hurt to repeat for his friends. I was too spent to drive so Adam drove us up there. A paved road system above Radstadt provided the easy access and for once, this road didn’t even have a toll. We needed to walk for 500 horizontal meters to the summit and I did grab the rain jacket in case the weather collapsed. The rain held off for us, but there was no view. The most memorable part of this outing was actually the blueberries and we spent at least 15 minutes picking at least 10 EUR worth of berries each. We then parted ways and a few of us would do Gaisberg next.
